“The true journey of discovery lies not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” (Marcel Proust)
When everything changes… how are you showing up?
In recent times, change has become the new normal. As yogis, we know that our mind can be our biggest support or greatest enemy - and it’s up to us to take control of our thoughts and actions, regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in.
There is a new reality out there, and the main question is: How quickly can we lean in and drive the process of change, rather than feeling at its mercy? Notice unresourceful patterns, get to their root, and turn them around to come back into balance and heartfelt alignment of body, mind and soul.
What is life coaching - and how can it help?
A Life Coach helps you to assess your life from an unbiased point of view: where are you at, where would you like to be, and how can you get there as quickly as possible?
Rather than endlessly navel gazing and discussing ‘the issue’, a good coach will help you gain clarity about the new outcomes you want to create, and help you shift whatever gets in the way. Working with your conscious and unconscious mind, they reveal negative behavioural patterns and limiting beliefs and support you in replacing them with better, more functional strategies. To do so, they can tap into a vast variety of tools and techniques from neuroscience, NLP, hypnotherapy and more.
Most importantly, a coach won’t look at you as ‘broken’, but instead see that you are whole, complete and able. From that perspective, they will help you identify outdated behavioural strategies and - if they aren’t serving you anymore - help you replace them with better and more resourceful ways.
What you can expect to get out your coaching experience
Create a new vision and feel vibrantly alive even during times of massive change and uncertainty.
Find clarity and certainty in decision-making when you hit a fork on the road and feel stuck.
Let go of anger, grief, fear etc. and shift deeply engrained trigger-response patterns.
Reinvent yourself in times of change. If you are asking yourself "Who am I even, if I'm not ... anymore", it's time to redefine your identity so it is no longer tied to what was, but to who you have become, and how you are recreating yourself moving forward.
Learn to communicate resourcefully and set healthy boundaries. Be proactive, remain focused on your outcome and do your part in creating better relationships.
Be your best, most certain and calm self and break repetitive emotional or conflict patterns.
Introducing Flex’ change agent, Henrike Schreer
To bring a coach on board, we had to find someone who understands and aligns with our Flex way of life. As an expert in human behaviour, Bhakti yogini Henrike Schreer is just that person.
A multi-faceted high achiever, just like our students
Originally from Germany, Henrike’s first degree was in Political Science, Spanish and Public Law and for several years, she worked in Berlin’s hottest tech startup. However after relocating to Australia in 2010, she completed a Diploma in Life Coaching and a Cert IV in Business, and added certifications in Hypnotherapy, as an NLP Master Practitioner and several other modalities in the field of Personal Development and Leadership.
Since then, she went on to co-found and manage the Krishna Village Retreat Centre from 2013-2019, whilst continuing to coach retreat guests and yoga teacher trainees, and mentor new life coaches on behalf of The Coaching Institute (TCI) in Melbourne.
She has been involved with Flex behind the scenes since January 2019, providing business development and leadership consultancy as well as a broad range of marketing skills.
What others have to say about Henrike’s work
“The program changed my views and beliefs”
Henrike used every moment we had in my pressure cooker 5-week-program to understand and heal an old and painful issue that kept me from moving on. All sessions were right on topic and truly hard work for both of us. We spent our time and energy on understanding the problem and reframing and creating a healthy and sustainable perspective for the future. The program changed my views and beliefs so now I can move on, with lots of work to do, yet now I know how. Some distinctive elements were: using positive language, analysing emotions and beliefs to their core, understanding the patterns and changing them for the future. Thank you so much!

One of the most positive things I have done for myself
From the moment we met, I felt completely at ease and was drawn by how warm, friendly and encouraging Henrike was. She managed to ask the right questions that really dug in to the core of the problem, and then gently and positively helped to open my eyes to the vast amount of possibilities available. Together, we really highlighted the issues that were holding me back. In particular, Henrike was able to provide insight in to how I approached a situation, which allowed me to begin to change. Instead of letting me dwell on problems and negativities, she helped me search for solutions.
One of the most unique things about working with Henrike is the great amount of connection and insight she provides; it’s like she challenges you until you reach that light bulb moment and everything suddenly makes sense. Her energy, positivity and ‘can do’ attitude is infectious in the best way. Through the sessions with Henrike I developed a clearer sense of who I am, who I want to be and what I want in my life. I highly recommend it – it was one of the most positive things I have done for myself.

One of the most exciting times in my life
When I moved to a new country, I left behind family, friends, and an entire support network. Rather than succumbing to the feeling of isolation, Henrike showed me that this was an opportunity to focus on myself. With her guidance, I was able to take stock of where I am in life and where I want to be. Becoming an expat has been one of the most exciting times in my life, and much of that is owed to working with Henrike.
